Bradshaw Interceptor 6B

Bradshaw Road improvements between Florin Road and Jackson Road included the primary scope of the installation approximately 8,662 feet of 108″ diameter interceptor, 493 feet of 90″ diameter interceptor, 2,631 feet of 84″ diameter interceptor and two concrete structures. Approximately 384 feet of 108″ pipe was installed by tunneling and 8,278 feet were installed in open-cut excavations.

There were two tunnels on this project. The Jackson Tunnel was driven with a 12’ shield and was 130’ in length. Mitchell used 12’ diameter liner plate for support, grouting behind that as the tunnel progressed. The next tunnel was the Morrison Creek Tunnel and was 254’, driven and supported the same way as the Jackson Tunnel. Along with the tunnels 108” pipe was installed in both Jackson Tunnel and Morrison Creek Tunnel, and grouted the annular space for both.

Other Bradshaw Road improvements work include clearing and grubbing, tree removal, 14,000 cubic yards of roadway excavation, grading, pavement planning and removal, furnishing and placing of 1,170 tons of aggregate base, furnishing and placing 28,650 tons of Type A asphalt concrete and 23,000 tons of rubberized asphalt concrete, removal of existing culverts, construction of a concrete slab bridge over Elder Creek, installation of culverts and roadside ditches, traffic signal modifications at two intersections, installation of traffic signal interconnect, striping, installation of raised medians, planting and irrigation, removal of existing fences and gates, relocation of existing fences and gates, installation of new fences and gates.
